Working with the VP HR, this role will be responsible for creating a complete talent strategy that encompasses all aspects of the employee experience and life-cycle for both Golf Town and Sporting Life. You will have the opportunity to deliver best in class learning and development programs, craft a culture of learning and self-improvement, work with the Executive Leadership Team to capitalize on organizational design and succession planning activities, and lead the recruitment function for both banners.
What you will do:
- Develop our top talent by working with leaders to craft individual development plans, coaching opportunities and learning programs that support our current and future talent requirements.
- Translate the business strategy to ensure that we have the best current and future talent by building a robust succession plan for all teams and assist in the qualification and identification of our top talent. Infuse this planning into recruitment strategies, and learning and development needs.
- Develop a competency framework that is scalable across all job functions and levels for both Store and Head office employees.
- Create talent development programs to promote retail as a career.
- Lead the performance management process and promote a culture of self-learning as well as manager accountability.
- Maximize the onboarding process to ensure that all team members have a clear and concise understanding of performance requirements and role and responsibility.
- Drive forward a compelling employee brand that accurately reflects the employee value proposition and experience.
- Own the recruitment processes and strategy and create partnerships and programs that will ensure that we have access to the best retail talent.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead and coach teams.
