CAREER OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW:
The Football Insights Analyst will provide actionable data insights and football intelligence across the Sporting Department – Coaching, Performance Analysis, Human Performance and Talent Management – and aid in the short, medium and long-term decision-making strategies of the club.
The Football Insights Analyst will also work collaboratively with the Data Insights & Decision Technology team in Global Football, help develop our proprietary insights platform, and will be responsible to produce and effectively communicate high quality data insights across the NYCFC sporting department.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
- This role will support in the delivery of football intelligence and data insights across all football functions - Talent Management; Football Performance; and Human Performance - within New York City Football Club
- Demonstrate innovative data-orientated approaches to problem solving of short, mid and long-term projects
- Explore, interrogate and analyze a multitude of data sources that sit within the NYCFC/CFG infrastructure to identify actionable insights
- Communicate insights with key decision makers through visual storytelling
- Link closely with the members of the Performance Analysis, Coaching, Recruitment & Human Performance departments in order to design and implement insightful metrics, challenge conventional thinking and provide an objective foundation for analysis
- Development of models and provision of direct analytical support to NYCFC sporting stakeholders
Qualifications Required
Qualifications Required- A passion for problem-solving through data-driven approaches
- Must have experience providing data analytical support to an organization
- Must have evidence of working with, and deriving insights from, complex datasets
- Ability to design and implement insightful metrics, dashboards & communication tools
- Prior experience of visual analytics tools such as Tableau, QlikSense, Power BI, etc.
- Ability to apply data visualization techniques to facilitate conversations and assist in decision making
- Experience in working to tight deadlines
- Must have a good knowledge and interest in soccer and understanding of the game
- The ability to use statistical knowledge to tackle football specific problems
- Excellent communicator
- Proactive and driven to succeed
- Able to run projects professionally
- Attention to detail
- Preferred written and verbal fluency in Spanish
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERSONAL SKILLSET:

- To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected
- To maintain professional conduct at all times
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Business Analytics, Business Science or Sports Management
- Minimum of three years of experience in a related field and/or Sports & Entertainment preferred
