Merchandise and Community Relations Intern (Summer)

Gateway Professional Baseball

The Gateway Grizzlies Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, is currently in search of a Merchandise & Community Relations Intern for the 2021 season. The position available will give candidates an opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports through our challenging and rewarding internship program. It will run from May through September 2021.

•  Work with Creative Department to create apparel designs & concepts

•  Help maintain web store. Includes item creation, inventory management, price adjustments, etc.

•  Help stock merchandise stands and maintain inventory & sales

•  Help monitor inventory levels and place reorders/remove from inventory line as necessary

•  Process customer returns and assist with order issues (wrong size, defective item, pricing issues, etc.

•  Responsible for aiding in the development, planning, implementation and oversight of designated community events

•  Acts as liaison between foundation representatives, volunteers, etc.

•  Assist in day-to-day operations with may include making phone calls, emailing, organizing, odd jobs, etc.

•  Assist with donation requests

• Must be  passionate about giving back to others

• Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Knowledge of basic computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.)

• Knowledge of social media sites and associated applications

• Must be willing and able to lift items up to 50 lbs. for set up and take down of games and events

• Flexibility to work long days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
