 Job Description

The Varsity Performance Sport Program is responsible for the development, implementation, assessment and strategic management of varsity sport, team and athlete-specific programs for soccer, rugby, basketball, field-hockey, cross country/track, rowing, swimming and golf; student-athlete programs and the Club Sport Program. Additionally, Varsity Performance Sport provides student-athlete supports, resources and leadership; coaching support, education and development; student-athlete academic and sport compliance; and leads varsity scholarship development, oversees the UVic Sports Injury Clinic, and adjudication, Vikes alumni engagement, partnership development and provides leadership on sport governance matters.

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership experience in a high-performance athletic environment (amateur or professional), including leading and motivating a diverse team of professionals to pursue and achieve stretch goals
  • The successful candidate will have knowledge of and experience leading strategic and operational planning, human resources and sport administration, a Masters’ degree in sport-related or leadership discipline, or equivalent, is desirable
  • Additionally, the successful candidate will have comprehensive and progressive understanding of the issues and trends related to leading and supporting varsity student-athletes and coaches and the programs and services
