Reporting to the Director, Finance, the Manager, Tax & Financial Reporting, is a key contributor in managing financial reporting and tax protocol across all Katz Group companies in Canada and the US. The successful candidate will hold a CPA designation, carry strong experience in tax and financial reporting, and have an exceptional attention for detail.


  • Manage deadlines and filings in respect of Canadian and US tax filings across the group
  • Develop and facilitate a holistic tax protocol and structure that meet the needs of the business; this will include corporate income tax and indirect tax
  • Work with all companies across group to establish optimal tax efficiency strategies
  • Manage quarterly and annual tax provision calculations as well as work alongside staff in the companies across the group and review their provisions
  • Manage deferred taxes across the group and assist with complex tax accounting issues as required
  • Perform a review of existing close processes across the group and draft actionable improvements
  • Work alongside companies across the group to ensure all close deadlines are met
  • Coordinate all accounting methodologies and policies across the group
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages inclusive of quarterly and annual financial statement disclosures as required
  • Monitor and log related party transactions

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Post Secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years experience in taxation and financial reporting; experience in a public accounting firm is also considered appropriate
  • Completion or progress towards the CPA in-depth tax program
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CMA, CGA)
  • Strong understanding of Canadian federal and provincial tax legislation
  • Understanding of all compliance regulations for US Federal and State Tax agencies considered an asset
  • Experience with different accounting software is considered an asset
  • Strong analytical skill; high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Capable of handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong planning and organization skills to determine priorities with strict deadlines
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in tax software packages
