The Business Intelligence department is tasked with harnessing the power of data, analytics and technology to track, report and forecast business KPIs, arm sales & service managers with the data they need, customize fan experience, analyze event business performance, and assist in improving strategic decision-making for the Seattle Kraken, Climate Pledge Arena and the Kraken Training Center.
We are seeking a Data Engineer who will manage the data used by decision-makers across the Kraken and Arena organization. The Data Engineer will be charged with designing and supporting the acquisition, movement, storage, and utilization of data. Additionally, the Data Engineer will be responsible for collaborating with Business Analysts to effectively utilize the data in revenue generation, arena operational efficiency and fan customization analysis.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Design and maintain database and information systems for the team, arena and training center
  • Develop and manage processes to integrate datasets from various sources and vendors into our data warehouse, including API access
  • Build data quality assurance tools to ensure data integrity
  • Work with Business Intelligence staff to optimize querying and retrieval of information
  • Assist with the display and visualization of data and its integration into CRM (Salesforce) and data visualization tools (Tableau)
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • 3+ years of work experience in SQL database systems with strong understanding of database design
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the field
  • Experience with NoSQL database systems
  • Fluent in a modern programming language; Python preferred
  • Experience with ETL data processing
  • Experience with creating APIs to access data
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented, resourceful, quick learner and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • A high degree of personal integrity and consistently put the interests of the organization first
  • Must be a fierce communicator and cross-organizational collaborator
