As a contributing member within the Finance department, the Manager, Finance serves the organization's staff, department heads, senior leadership, and Federation members through financial planning, reporting, forecasting, analysis, and operations. This position supports the management and presentation of the annual budget to support the organization’s strategic objectives. The Manager, Finance oversees the organizations’ expense management platform, corporate credit card program, and travel-related invoice payment processes. This role performs data analysis and develops reports across several areas including federation/departmental financial performance, national team games, and travel & expenses, while assisting with projects and analysis as necessary.
Primary Responsibilities 
  • Manages the consolidation and reporting of the annual federation budget including department detail, summaries, while creating presentation decks and final budget report for BOD/Federation approval
  • Contributes to the preparation of quarterly forecasting for review and analysis with the CFO/COO and senior leadership
  • Maintains the expense reporting platform (Chrome River), including setting up and training new users, and technology integrations of financial systems that connect to the ERP, (Sage Intacct)
  • Oversees the federation’s corporate credit card program, including management of cards, supervising employee reconciliation process, and communication with credit card provider
  • Manages the company high-limit vendor credit card and assists with AP/AR processes as needed
  • Tracks and records federation grants (FIFA, Concacaf, USOPC etc.) to ensure proper usage of funds
  • Supports CFO/COO’s and Director, Finance and Operations’ initiatives to reduce variability and cost, drive operational efficiencies, make procurement decisions, and initiate system improvements
  • Analyzes financial trends and corporate activity for strategic decision making and forecasting while working with the strategy department on framework for U.S. Soccer’s five-year projections
  • Assists with Federation’s corporate travel program including management of Concur travel and relationship with Federation’s Travel Agency and Airline/Hotel partners
  • Retains in-depth knowledge of and maintains the federation’s financial chart of accounts
  • Supports special projects and additional analysis as required

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Minimum 4-5 years of finance or accounting experience with demonstrated performance
  • Prior industry experience in financial planning, budgeting, analysis
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office products with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with ERP (Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, MIP, etc.) and reporting systems required
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical & time management skills and ability to prioritize workflow
  • Ability to deliver high quality work and execute under pressure and deadlines
  • Strong verbal, written and in-person communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
