 Job Description

The ideal candidate is a proactive creative with a strong eye, an understanding of the sports photography landscape and a passion for sports (preferably motorsports). This role requires experience concepting, shooting, editing and archiving images for digital and social media platforms and beyond.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead SHR’s in-house photography, concepting productions, shooting and editing images at the shop and at races.
  • Manage SHR’s digital asset management, uploading, tagging, and maintaining Photoshelter.
  • Lead studio and on-location brand and partner photoshoots with drivers and crew members.
  • Collaborate with the social team to produce imagery for brand and partner content.
  • Work alongside the marketing account managers to service partner photography requests as they are received.
  • Deliver real-time images on race days and at NASCAR events.
  • Pull and organize photos for various marketing, driver and partner needs.
  • Actively engage in the creative process for both post-production and live-production needs; work with all parties to achieve defined goals.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment inventory and facilitating servicing repairs when necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members to create, and execute ideas that push the envelope, help SHR reach its goals and take our brand to the next level.
  • Participate in weekly creative meetings that will ideate new projects, outline schedules for upcoming projects and set an annual calendar for content distribution.
  • Participates in other projects related to Stewart-Haas Racing, Haas F1 Team, Gene Haas Foundation and additional miscellaneous projects.

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Experience photographing sporting events, preferably racing
  • Demonstrated experience editing photos for marketing and social use and proficient with post-production software, including Adobe Photoshop
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage projects and deadlines; shares work in-progress, welcomes feedback and engages in constructive discussions to meet deadlines and expectations
  • Ability to take a creative and artistic approach to photography, with a strong understanding of the social media landscape and capturing content across platforms
  • Comfortability working with athletes and giving direction on sets
  • Understanding of all studio elements, especially lighting
  • Experience with digital asset management systems, like Photoshelter
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and departments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask, managing multiple projects with tight timelines
  • A team-oriented mindset and an ability to relate to others and develop sound relationships
