 Job Description

 The Events Manager will serve as primary liaison with clients, fans, and third-party coordinators, responding to requests and providing a high level of customer service.
Responsibilities:
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate Washington Spirit events and programs overseeing all production, set up, staffing and event-related contracted services
  • Obtain necessary permits and approvals for events
  • Prepare event budgets. This includes estimating personnel, equipment, and space needs
  • Control access passes to Washington Spirit events and activities
  • Manage onsite operations staff and contracted staff (security, janitorial, first responders, temp staff etc.) as it relates to the assigned event
  • Assist in the negotiation, execution, and monitoring of contract agreements with clients
  • Work with management team to establish Washinton Spirit priorities
  • Maintain the Washington Spirit event calendar and disseminate information to the Event Team
  • Monitor Event spend, assure coding and tracking to budget
  • Track expenditures and assure proper invoicing, supporting documentation and collection of outstanding open invoices
  • Timely preparation of financial event recaps and after-action reports following each event
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • College education or equivalent - Three to five years’ experience in sports entertainment and/or venue event management
  • Knowledge of the following:  Event Management, city ordinances, business administration practices, budgeting, purchasing, contract practices, basic public safety practices, and the Americans with Disabilities Act
  • Proficiency in Use/Application of the following:  Microsoft O365 and Venue Ops
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, and a commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prior management experience
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse group of constituents
  • Experience with community relations
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Be analytical, proactive, and flexible
  • Business acumen and demeanor with independent judgement
  • Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
