 Job Description

The Portland Sea Dogs are seeking a Merchandise Coordinator to help lead our entire merchandise operation, including our online business and team store. This individual must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required in the sports and events industry. A successful candidate will have a background in merchandising with knowledge of inventory tracking, online sales, and overall familiarity with sports merchandise. Must have strong interpersonal skills with customers, team members, and vendors.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Ticket Operations in running the team store including but not limited to handling the staffing, working in the store in the offseason, and on game days.
  • Monitor inventory of assigned merchandise to ensure that stock is available for online orders and in-store purchasing.
  • Fulfill and ship online orders in a timely matter.
  • Learn and have proficient knowledge of our POS System and web platform.
  • Maintain store front, displays, and stock room/storage areas.
  • Work with the Director of Ticket Operations and marketing team on promotions and strategies to increase web sales, and market new products to customers.
  • Work with the Director of Ticket Operations on special order items, on-field merchandise, and theme night ordering.
  • Help complete daily, monthly, and annual sales reports.
  • Help unload deliveries for the store as needed.
  • Seek new retail opportunities in the local community via partnerships or other outside events.
  • Assist in the development and maximization of the team store floor plan.
  • Maintain a book of business including ticket sales, sponsorship sales, and hospitality sales.
  • Assist with Tarp Pulls and special events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 pounds unassisted.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience working in sports is a plus, but not required.
