Rafters interns receive a $1500 salary for the summer and are expected to maintain a very challenging schedule throughout the internship. Interns are expected to be at all home games as well as play key roles in executing special events taking place at Witter Field.  Days off are granted throughout the season to help alleviate the challenging schedule.
If a career in sports is what you desire, an internship with a sports team can be a great benefit.  Not only is it an important step professionally, but it’s also a great way to build relationships and network in a fun, fast paced and exciting environment.  Past interns have used their experience with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters to go on to bigger and better things internally, with another team or in a desired field of interest.

The Webcast Director Internship will be the lead video director for all 36 Rafter webcasts, and will assist in producing any video content the Rafters need.

Job Duties:

  • Direct a four-camera webcast broadcast for all 36 home games
  • Manage audio levels during webcast
  • Producing and editing Northwoods League T.V. commercials
  • Producing highlight packages after games for the website, media partners and other social media outlets
  • Responsible for setup and breakdown of video equipment each night
  • Responsible for maintenance of video equipment
  • Shoot and edit pre game shows prior to each home game
  • Work with Video Board Operator for in game live feeds
  • Other duties assigned by the GM

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Experience directing a broadcast or producing a broadcast.
  • Must have the ability to work long hours and under the pressure of producing a live sporting event.
  • Ability to work independently and take leadership of the web cast.
  • Proficient in camera techniques, including positioning, lighting, etc.
