The Video Production internship runs from mid May to late August. The summer collegiate season officially begins in late May.  Qualifications are based on ability, desire, work ethic and a commitment to make the most of the experience.  Internships are geared to educate about the entire business of baseball.
Rafters interns receive a $1500 salary for the summer and are expected to maintain a very challenging schedule throughout the internship. Interns are expected to be at all home games as well as play key roles in executing special events taking place at Witter Field.  Days off are granted throughout the season to help alleviate the challenging schedule.
If a career in sports is what you desire, an internship with a sports team can be a great benefit.  Not only is it an important step professionally, but it’s also a great way to build relationships and network in a fun, fast paced and exciting environment.  Past interns have used their experience with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters to go on to bigger and better things internally, with another team or in a desired field of interest.
The Video Production intern would work directly with the Webcast Director Intern to produce a webcast for all 36 home games. This position will also be the lead producer in any video content.

Job Duties:

  • Run Wirecast during all 36 home games (graphics, commercials, replays)
  • Producing and editing short and long form video packages for social media and video board use
  • Producing and editing Northwoods League T.V. commercials
  • Work closely with marketing department to produce promotional videos for different promotional nights
  • Shoot and edit pre game shows prior to each home game
  • Be a member of the social media team
  • Other duties assigned by the GM

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Being efficient with editing software such as Final Cut Pro or related programs
  • Ability to shoot footage that document activities taking place at or outside of the ballpark
  • Must be a creative thinker with the ability to think of new, fun ideas to improve the fan experience through video.
  • Must have the ability to work long hours and under the pressure of producing a live sporting event.
