The Box Office internship runs from mid May to late August. The summer collegiate season officially begins in late May.  Qualifications are based on ability, desire, work ethic and a commitment to make the most of the experience.  Internships are geared to educate about the entire business of baseball.
Rafters interns receive a $1500 salary for the summer and are expected to maintain a very challenging schedule throughout the internship. Interns are expected to be at all home games as well as play key roles in executing special events taking place at Witter Field.  Days off are granted throughout the season to help alleviate the challenging schedule.
If a career in sports is what you desire, an internship with a sports team can be a great benefit.  Not only is it an important step professionally, but it’s also a great way to build relationships and network in a fun, fast paced and exciting environment.  Past interns have used their experience with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters to go on to bigger and better things internally, with another team or in a desired field of interest.
The Box Office intern will assist in managing the ticket office, work with our online ticketing system and be one of the faces of the fan experience at Witter Field. When applying, please provide a cover letter and resume.

Position Responsibilities 
  • Work directly with the Northwoods League online ticket system to ensure that all season ticket holders, single-game goers and group outing participants have a seamless experience entering the ballpark
  • Manage and run box office at Witter Field
  • Handle most incoming calls and direct these calls to the correct front office member when necessary, handle all walk-up customers as well as field questions from fans, game day staff and potential customers
  • Make sure proper wristbands are available for group outings
  • Assist with other special groups in the park
  • Handle all will call tickets prior to every home game
  • Other duties as assigned by GM

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Previous customer service experience
  • Previous ticketing experience preferred
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and follow instructions from multiple supervisors
  • Proven organizational skills
