 Job Description

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans are hiring a seasonal internship position to assist in the fan engagement department. This person will work directly under the Director of Fan Engagement to help enhance the fan experience both at the ballpark and online.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and execute game day promotional events such as giveaways, jersey auctions, and on-field entertainment.
  • Assist in the coordinating and execution of pre-game activities and entertainment.
  • Conceptualize and develop new on-field activations and ballpark entertainment ideas.
  • Interview, hire, and manage a game day promotions team.
  • Prepare ballpark set-up on game days and non-traditional revenue events.
  • Coordinate and attend mascot appearances both at the ballpark and in the community.
  • Schedule and execute ballpark tours both on game days and non-game days.
  • Work non-traditional revenue events held at the ballpark. This will include events on nights and weekends on non-game days.
  • Conceptualize and develop image and video content ideas for the Pelicans social media accounts.
  • Assist in scheduling campaign content to social media.
  • Track social media metrics for specific campaign and end of season reporting.
  • Content capture at the ballpark (both during games and NTR events), as well as at community events.
  • Be available to field and answer fan messages on various social media channels, as well as front desk phone calls and fan inquiries.
  • Assist with bat dog responsibilities.
  • Perform as mascots if necessary.

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Interns are preferable of college senior status or employee eligible, meaning able to accept a full-time job upon completion of the internship.
    • Other applicants will not be excluded.
  • Ability to start in mid-January on a full time basis.
  • Prior experience working in Minor League Baseball (or a similar position) is preferred.
    • Other applicants will not be excluded.
  • Have a working knowledge of Adobe Master Collection, including but not limited to Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, and Premier.
  • Previous social media experience for team or brand is preferred.
    • Other applicants will not be excluded.
  • A strong desire to work in the sports industry.
  • Interns should be able to perform physically demanding aspects of the job.
  • Interns must be willing to dedicate 40-100 hours per week to their internship, including all home games and ballpark events.
