 Job Description

 Oversee the sports nutrition program for all minor league affiliates within the Cincinnati Reds organization. The Minor League Dietitian will work as a member of the Health & Performance Department to maximize player health and performance. The Minor League Dietitian will leverage their knowledge and training to plan, organize, and execute affiliate performance nutrition.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the administration of the Cincinnati Reds nutrition program throughout the minor league affiliates.
  • Manage and coordinate pre- and post-game catering for all minor league affiliates at home, and on the road.
  • Design quality menus, ensure on-time meal deliveries and payments to catering companies, and present food that is to the Cincinnati Reds standard of quality.
  • Travel to minor league affiliates to evaluate and oversee the daily nutrition provided, conduct 1-on-1 and team meetings, and implement nutrition initiatives/education.
  • Ensure proper food safety and sanitation procedures are met at all minor league affiliate facilities.
  • Develop good partnerships and relationships with chefs, catering companies, and vendors.
  • Maintain communication regarding player nutrition with both the clubhouse staffs, as well as each affiliate's health and performance staff.
  • Maintain communication with in-house catering companies, field coordinators, and other staff.
  • Order and inventory supplements, snacks, and beverages.
  • Manage minor league affiliate budgets and maintain up-to-date budget records.
  • Continuously provide educational opportunities for players and staff.
  • Deliver nutrition presentations, carry out nutrition initiatives, and lead grocery store tours and cooking classes.
  • Perform nutrition assessments and provide individualized meal plans as needed, including throughout the off-season.
  • Lead the minor league rehab nutrition program.
  • Assess, educate, and consult with all minor league players before and after surgery or injury.
  • Evaluate and research NSF Certified for Sport supplements.

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Independent judgment and ability to multitask is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work long, flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be trustworthy and comfortable with managing large quantities of money and sensitive information.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate with wide range of departments, seniority levels and personalities.
  • Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
