 Job Description

The Kansas City Royals Trainee Program is designed for applicants interested in the sports and entertainment industry, particularly professional sports. The Royals are seeking applicants with various backgrounds, educations, and experiences to create a valuable community of learning opportunities from front office staff as well as from one another. The Trainee Program intends to cultivate a network of young professionals dedicated to developing their career and supporting the careers of those around them. The duration of these positions only runs through the current Royals season without expectation of full-time employment upon conclusion.
  • Assist with event planning, set-up, and production for all theme nights, including Salute to the Negro Leagues, Big Slick, Girls Night Out, Fan Appreciation Day, University Days, Bark at the Parks, etc.
  • Assist with giveaway volunteer program preparation and event day logistics
  • Complete organization giveaway distribution
  • Serve as the event point of contact for some outside vendors
  • Work with the Royals Box Office to complete comp ticket requests
  • Assist with the execution of the New Crew Kids Club
  • Organize and maintain accurate inventory for all giveaway and theme night items
  • Manage all departmental mailing requests
  • Compile and organize industry research relating to theme nights, special events and giveaways
  • Other duties as assigned by the Events & Activations Department

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work evenings and weekends as needed for Royals home games and non-game day special events
  • Possess a professional, positive, and collaborative attitude
  • Able to work in outside elements including heat, rain, cold, and snow
