Reporting to the Manager, Athlete Services, the Assistant Coordinator, Food Services will support the Coordinator, Food Services with coordinating all food and beverage requirements for the PEI 2023 Canada Winter Games. The Assistant Coordinator will also work closely with the Functional Area Lead of Food & Beverage Services, and Games-time support volunteers to safely plan and implement feeding services for all Games Participants and Games Family.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Assisting in executing a Food & Beverage Plan (for all budgeted client groups) that will identify required feeding programs. Examples of client groups include:

    • Athletes & Coaches

    • Officials

    • Spectators

    • Volunteers

  • Supporting the Venue Management Model and Venue Teams to ensure the successful delivery of the Food & Beverage program for the Games

  • Supporting the Food & Beverage Committee and Food Venue Team Representatives

  • Train, orientate and guide Food Venue Team Representatives who will represent Food & Beverage Services on the relevant Venue Teams

  • Supporting development of Games time operational documents, manuals and handbooks

  • Developing Games-time policies and procedures to guide the delivery of services during Games-time, including but not limited to venue feeding, food delivery procedures, lounge grazing procedures, late feeding policies, allergy/dietary restriction policies, etc.

  • Comply with Health PEI’s Public Health Food Safety regulations

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • A steadfast attention to detail and ability to create and communicate information in a spreadsheet

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects, working with minimal supervision

  • Ability to work in a team environment where duties and reporting levels are shared

  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and adaptability to changing and conflicting priorities

  • Ability to work collaboratively with both staff and volunteers

  • Knowledge and experience working in a not-for-profit, events, sports or multi-sport Games environment is an asset

  • Experience with Google’s G Suite programs (e.g. Gmail, Docs, Slides, Calendar, etc.) or equivalent Microsoft Office programs

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly dynamic, deeply collaborative environment

  • Energetic self-starter; takes initiative and can work with minimum direction and supervision

  • Flexible and strong team orientation and management style
