Job Description
Achieve a diversified portfolio of multi-year funding sources (corporate, government, earned revenue) with year-over-year growth in total revenue.
In this capacity, you will:
- Refine the revenue strategy and build detailed plans for execution
- Inform current and future offerings to position them favourably for funding
- Package our offerings to appeal to target funders
- Originate and lead partnership deals, driving the pipeline for earned revenue, partnerships, and grants
- Secure new funding partners and direct partnership management upon closing
- Oversee the engagement cycle for earned revenue and performance against targets
Communications
Own the brand, expanding awareness and reach among target audiences.
In this capacity, you will:
- Develop strategy and annual plans, and oversee implementation
- Steward the brand and its evolution
- Define the organization’s voice, reflecting a strong point of view and moments of advocacy
- Oversee all creative and communications, including the communications calendar, collateral, social media, etc.
- Oversee public and media relations
- Direct our insights and knowledge translation efforts to optimize the value of these activities
- Support the CEO with public advocacy activities
- Lead strategic initiatives
Marketing and Engagement
Grow engagement of sport leaders and organizations in our programming and initiatives.
In this capacity, you will:
- Develop marketing strategies and plans
- Lead the packaging of our offerings to meet the needs and interests of our target audiences
- Build the engagement cycle, introducing effective engagement practices throughout the organization
- Direct campaigns, including digital marketing campaigns
- Drive participation in our free and fee-for-service offerings, on both timebound and ongoing bases
Strategic Partnerships
Build partnerships and relationships to help drive progress on revenue and growth objectives.
In this capacity, you will:
- Serve as an ambassador for the organization, nurturing a network of relevant relationships
- Build relationships with strategic partners, based on achieving shared goals aligned to strategy
- Diversify our partners, helping to ensure we reflect and serve the diversity of women and girls in Canada
- Deepen existing partnerships with a focus on generating greater shared value
Qualifications Required
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to create strategies for the full complement of marketing, communications, public relations, and revenue generation activities, achieving strong return on objectives.
- Significant direct experience leading the successful commercialization of an organization’s brand and activities.
- Strong affinity for sales, with proven ability to independently originate and close multi-year deals with corporate partners.
- End-user orientation with excellent ability to listen to and design for multiple audiences, including an understanding of grassroots engagement.
- Excellent understanding of digital marketing strategy and activation to drive growth in stakeholder engagement and brand commercialization.
- Entrepreneurial and innovative, driving continuous improvement and evolution in pursuit of sustainability and scale of impact.
- Insightful and creative in designing partnerships with compelling value for both/all parties.
- Strategic management of budget across multiple programs, with a resourceful approach that optimizes value for money.
- Demonstrated ability to independently design and deliver high quality, results-focused initiatives that meet organizational and funder expectations.
- Proven leadership skills as an effective, team-oriented leader and a thoughtful collaborator.
- Exceptional organization, analytical, and planning skills with a strong attention to detail and the ability to solve problems and excel in a high-performance culture.
- Proven ability to competently manage multiple multi-year initiatives and relationships simultaneously.
- Ability to manage others and achieve results through others, either as direct reports, consultants, or stakeholder and committee groups.
- 8-10 years’ experience working in marketing and/or revenue roles.
- Experience applying an intersectional gender equity lens, including specific understanding of anti-oppression and accessibility principles and their applications.
- Experience working with digital tools such as CRMs (Salesforce specifically), Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, Zoom, and Submittable or equivalents.
- Experience working or volunteering in the Canadian sport and physical activity system is an asset.
- Bilingualism (French-English) is a strong asset.
