 Job Description

This position supports the execution of the annual research agenda for USA Football.  This position assists in research design, programming, data collection, data analysis and communicating results.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Support the implementation of the research agenda through work with the Director of Research & Education and the Research Associates
  • Assist in collecting information from various published and unpublished sources to supplement market understanding and data collected from multiple USA Football research initiatives, e.g., athletic organizations, federal agencies, institutional researchers, and others
  • Assist in communications to optimize research participation, including those used for the organization's website, newsletters, email campaigns, and other communications
  • Support the creation, editing and management of USA Football surveys via various online tools (e.g., SurveyGizmo, Question Pro); and support the management of survey data collection (e.g., tracking responses, following up with incomplete respondents; and acting as staff liaison for technical inquiries)
  • Assist in structuring and analyzing statistical data through the use of Excel, Stata, or SPSS
  • Assist in identifying key issues and findings resulting from data analysis of USA Football studies
  • Support the preparation and dissemination of clear and concise summaries, abstracts, presentations, talking points, infographics, and reports about USA Football research and external research studies that are relevant to the organization and its stakeholders
  • Support general database management duties
  •  Support Research Associates for USA Football committees and councils on research activities and discovery
  •  Maintain research project records including computer and paper correspondence files, contact information, data and document files, collected and organized research materials, project notes, status reports, draft reports, and final reports
  •  Create and edit research correspondence using AP style protocols

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Recent college graduate (within past 6 months) or current student pursuing a degree in academic research, athletics, or analytics
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills essential
  • Demonstrated teamwork and interpersonal skills essential
  • Extensive computer knowledge essential
  • Knowledge and understanding of national sports governing bodies structure and function and youth sports in general
  • Understanding of statistical principles and methods for data analysis
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn Tableau, Power BI or other data visualization tools/software
