 Job Description

 The Pro Football Hall of Fame Summer Internship Program provides a meaningful and educational, hands-on experience in a variety of disciplines. Interns will have the opportunity to gain real world experience throughout the summer leading up to the annual Enshrinement Weekend.
In addition to departmental work, all interns are required to attend weekly OTAs – organized team activities – which includes engagement with the Hall’s Management Team and other industry experts, networking, professional skill development and team building activities.
  • The Volunteer Program consists of two distinct groups – (1) year-round museum volunteers and (2) community committee volunteers that assist with the events surrounding the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival.
  • The Volunteer Management Intern will be given an introduction into the history of professional football, an overview of the museum’s layout and the responsibilities of the museum and committee volunteers.
The Volunteer Management Intern will also:
  • Learn the volunteer management software system, Volgistics, and use the system to assist museum volunteers in their hours and scheduling.
  • Assist in the scheduling and training of volunteers for special events, team and group tours and other events.
  • Complete a research project – review, evaluate and offer suggestions on the orientation and training of new museum volunteers.
  • Attend interdepartmental and staff meetings to learn to engage and interact with other departments in a professional manner.
  • Learn the committee volunteers’ roles during the Enshrinement Festival and assist in the planning and training of the committee volunteers.
  • Assist in the preparation of volunteer materials including credentials, handbooks, parking instructions, training videos and other materials.
  • Attend every event during the Enshrinement Festival where the volunteers are working to assist and supervise their duties.

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Must have a basic knowledge of professional football and its history and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences.
  • Customer-service focus, attention to detail, well organized, positive attitude and able to think on the fly.
  • Experience volunteering or working for a historical organization is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with CRMs/data management software preferred.
