The New Orleans Pelicans G League team, The Birmingham Squadron, is seeking a Manager of Corporate Partnerships to join our team. This individual will be responsible for setting the strategy surround our corporate partners, both selling and fulfilling contracts with corporate partners, as well as leading and motivating a small team. Our ideal candidate will provide exceptional client service, and has prior experience selling and negotiating deals with partners, as well as managing a book of corporate partners. This is a full-time position based in Birmingham, Alabama.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, train and develop a team of sales account executives and partnership coordinator; including setting and reviewing sales targets, mentoring, and directing daily activities
  • Develop and manage a strategic plan for corporate partnerships, including new business and renewals; develop integrated marketing campaigns to maximize the partnership value for the brand and team
  • Assist and support the cross-organizational goals of the Squadron’s departments, ticket sales, marketing, community relations, etc.; to ensure their programs and strategic plans are being incorporated into the proposals of our corporate partners and prospects
  • Research, prospect, pitch, sell, and negotiate contracts with corporate partners and sponsors
  • Explore and understand each partner’s business and industry, as well as the goals and objectives of their partnership with the Birmingham Squadron
  • Manage expense budgets related to the implementation and execution of each partner agreement
  • Ensure that all elements of our contracts are delivered in a first class manner in accordance with the philosophy of the franchise and within the provisions of the contractual obligation of the organization
  • Respond quickly and effectively to partner inquiries or complaints; deliver effective resolutions that please all parties
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual sales reports and annual growth projections

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing a team and/or working with selling or managing corporate partners is required; specifically in the sports industry is preferred
  • Must be very knowledgeable in the practices and principles related to the sale, negotiation, implementation and execution of contractual corporate partnership process
  • Must be creative, organized, possess a strong work ethic and a desire to continue to improve personally and professionally
  • Ability to motivate, train, and develop a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Previous experience with Microsoft CRM and Ticketmaster Archtics is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as deemed by the G-League schedule
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment with all levels in the organization
