Job Description
- Managing and scheduling a crew of 7-10 camera operators.
- Oversee the clipping of highlights in-game and the storage & organization of baseball clips.
- Produce the livestream through Wirecast and oversee the in-game and on-screen graphics.
- Create the live stream shot listings over game for commercial breaks to align with sponsor needs.
- Assist in the creation of video content for social media channels.
- Manage the Madison Mallards YouTube channel.
- Assist with motion graphic creation for in-stadium video board, including motion player cards using a green screen.
- Work with the Director of Marketing and Creative Media Manager to create video shorts that can be used online and on the video board to enhance the fan experience.
- Work closely with other Webcast Interns to maintain organization and enhance all video content for the Madison Mallards.
- Plan, execute and upkeep consistent media day strategy for players as they join the team including, but not limited to:
- Player headshots
- Hype video b-roll
- Lineup card video/photos for social media and video board use
- Record between-inning promotional games that can double as social media videos
- Actively research/stay on top of internet trends relevant to our team/target audience
- Assist other departments as needed, including stadium prep-work during pre-season and pre/post-game.
- Attend scheduled Sports Business classes, produced for the benefit of the Intern class.
- Accept and abide by all terms of the attached Intern Code of Conduct. (Appendix A)
- Accept and abide by all terms of the Madison Mallards Intern Handbook and Intern Confidentiality agreement (provided during onboarding.)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required
- Experience with video editing and software
- Previous experience operating and/or directing cameras during a live broadcast
- Proficient in video techniques, including camera positioning, lighting, etc.
- Must be a creative thinker with the ability to think of new, fun ideas to improve the fan experience through video
- A general understanding of baseball is preferred
- Ability to problem solve on the fly
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be well organized and detail oriented
- A computer for webcast production that has necessary webcast and editing software will be provided
