As a key member of Swimming Canada’s team, this coordinator will be responsible for support of all Communications efforts to drive awareness, announcements, entertainment and engagement.


  • Monitor website and social media traffic, providing a regular report to the Senior Manager, Communications
  • Manage content calendar surrounding daily content posting tactics
  • Writing press releases as required in English and French
  • Create social media campaigns aligned with Swimming Canada communications and social media strategies
  • Generate content for various Swimming Canada platforms
  • Participate in social media community management and monitoring
  • Participate in digital asset management of Swimming Canada photo, video and information archives with Coordinator, Content
  • Oversee upkeep of athlete bios and statistics
  • Support the marketing and communications team on special events/projects
  • Assist with event logistics and media relations as necessary
  • Attend events such as media days, camps and/or swim meets as required
  • Occasional work outside regular business hours
  • Other duties as required

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects on various timelines
  • Ability to work independently but also excel in a team environment
  • Understanding of high-performance sport environment
  • Tact and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Education or work experience as a content creator in journalism, communications, and/or public relations, especially if related to sport
  • Strong knowledge of a variety of digital platforms and social media strategies.
  • Experience working in and/or knowledge of sports, especially swimming, considered an asset
  • Bilingualism considered an asset
  • Post-Secondary diploma/degree
