Reporting to the Senior Director, the Communications Manager will be responsible for the management of the Centre’s communications activities including but not limited to:

  • Develop and execute the communications plan, and update as needed
  • Manage the implementation of a multi-channel communications strategy to build awareness of, and confidence in, the Centre’s brand and services;
  • Conduct media environment scans to ensure accuracy of third-party messages;
  • Respond quickly to communications issues that arise;
  • Raise awareness of the resources and research available to educate the sport community;
  • Develop brand voice and maintain brand integrity across all platforms;
  • Manage media relations and develop contacts with media members, influencers, thought leaders and key stakeholders;
  • Liaise with external communication, marketing, and design professionals;
  • Manage the creation of digital, video, audio and print content;
  • Monitor and analyze engagement across various platforms; and
  • Collaborate with the Centre’s staff in the elaboration of operational plans and in monitoring the achievement of the Centre’s strategic objectives.

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or relevant field;
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communication practices and technologies;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both official languages;
  • Working knowledge of content management systems, HTML coding, and digital graphics production;
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing;
  • Experience with search engine marketing, Google Analytics, and Google AdWords;
  • Impeccable copywriting and copy-editing abilities;
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects concurrently while respecting timelines; and
  • A solid understanding of the Canadian amateur sport system and a passion for sport would be considered an asset.
