Job Description
- Develop annual program plan for the upcoming season, including all on-ice and off-ice program schedules, pricing, and budget
- Manage day-to-day programming operations for all on- and off-ice programs
- Be present during program delivery to monitor implementation and to step in as required (absences may arise on an exceptional basis)
- Maintain CanSkate Achieved Excellence requirements, and work toward “exceeded” standard
- Oversee talent identification through our RisingStar (bridge) program
- Build an effective and robust StarSkate program
- Continue and expand club-led classes and groups at the early STAR levels
- Coach five (5) group sessions per week to provide instruction to and touchpoints with skaters and provide training to coaches
- Lead the coaches in developing a unified approach to teaching jumps in group classes
- Ensure required supplies and inventory are available to deliver planned programming
- Organize regular test days, and work with Test Chair
- Ensure safe sport standards are observed and enforced
- Make recommendations to the Board of Directors on policies pertaining to programming
Qualifications Required
- An energetic professional who is eager to lead the enhancement and delivery of all our Skate Canada programs into the future
- A Skate Canada certified coach with experience leading club programming
- A team-builder who supports and mentors coaches
- Committed to working with our team of Board volunteers
- Able to work 20 hours/week, including onsite supervision and some off-site administration
