The St. Louis CITY SC CITY2 Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting the Sporting Director, CITY2Head Coach in creating an elite training and competitive environment that strives to recruit players from all parts of the St. Louis region. The CITY2 Assistant Coach will strive to achieve the highest level of success by creating a team with a culture of excellence, that provides a life enriching experience and seeks to develop a complete player on and off the field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • On Field Coaching:
    • Attend all Team training sessions
    • Assist Head Coach with individual and group instruction; and coordinate individual training for young players after group training sessions.
  • Coaches Meeting
    • Attend all daily coaches meetings
    • Assist the preparation of the team training sessions
    • Review Previous Team game and training sessions
  • Game Administration:
    • Help in preparing pre-game meetings; and gather information from players and give input related to travel, pre-game meals, and lodging.
  • Administrative:
    • Maintain day to day integrity of the program.
  • Pre-Season
    • Coordinate with staff (pre-season)
    • Participate in pre-season meeting schedule; and assist in training schedule.
  • Community:
    • Interact with local soccer community
    • Making public appearances and participating in promotional and sponsorship activities on behalf of the Team (and its sponsors) as are reasonable in light of employee's position as Assistant Coach without additional compensation; and involve players with community outreach activities.
  • Other Duties:
    • Performing such other duties consistent with the employment as Assistant Coach that may from time to time be reasonably determined as assigned to Employee by the Head Coach

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Strong knowledge of soccer tactics, sport science and multidisciplinary development.
  • Proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • High ability to work with and guide a team.
  • Expert knowledge to identify, develop and support soccer talent.
  • Set and maintain a high standard of work performance, delivering quality consistently and effectively.
  • Accurate, efficient, and timely execution of tasks and able to be flexible and resourceful in response to changing priorities and needs.
  • Excellent facilitation skills, including the ability to manage and resolve tensions, disputes and conflicts.
  • Detail oriented and organized with effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, events, and holidays as required.

  • Passionate, positive, and pro-active about player development.
  • A strong work-ethic and ability to plan and reflect on trainings and matches.
