Job Description
Understand organizational and departmental goals in an effort to successfully identify key Community Relations plans for cross-platform campaigns that incorporate multiple departments. Platforms and programs can include staff volunteerism, activities, players/coach appearances, equipment drives and support for other cause-based organizations and platforms (Special Olympics, Pride Night, Salute to Service, Kick Childhood Cancer).
- Actively engage in community relations activities internally and externally.
- Assist with the tracking, fulfillment of donation requests.
- Assist with managing relationships with community organizations, community relations peers at other local teams and corporate partners.
- Support the Director and Manager of Community Relations with executing community initiatives and programs.
- Support organizational strategies to grow community relations efforts in the St. Louis region and surrounding areas to amplify league-wide campaigns through local fanbase.
- Assist with scheduling player appearances.
- Help coordinate community activities with community partners, including appearances for sponsor-driven community partnerships, community events and postgame opportunities with fans.
- Work cross-functionally throughout the organization to provide community assets.
- Build and maintain relationships within the St. Louis community.
- Provide schedule and updates of daily, weekly, monthly activities and initiatives to multiple necessary departments.
- Maintain inventory of autographed items and items for donation.
- Support Manager, Community Relations with management of Kids Club and fulfillment.
- Assist in other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in the following areas preferred: communications, journalism, marketing, event management, education, non-profit management, sports management.
- 1-2 years of work experience in event management, social impact, non-profit, cause-related marketing, or community outreach-related field.
- Prior experience working in sports a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to forge strong relationships with varying personalities.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and possess exceptional organizational skills.
- Positive, professional demeanor, with ability to be discreet.
- Ability to manage a variety of programs and activities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-departmentally.
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative, and fast-paced environment.
- Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- An innovative and creative thinker.
- Detail oriented and resourceful.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English, Portuguese/English, German/English) or multilingual skills a plus.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
