 Job Description

The Data Engineering Intern will work with a team to build, maintain, expand, and optimize Blackhawks data pipelines and architecture to provide internal functions with quality, usable, accurate, and timely information. The right candidate will be excited by the opportunity to create and improve systems and processes that drive the next generation of Blackhawks data products and initiatives. You will have direct, daily communication with an experienced Data Engineer who will provide expertise and guidance in completing your assigned work.
 Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and manage large, complex sets of data that meet defined requirements
  • Create infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from sources
  • Build responsive, multi-platform pipelines and applications using clear, readable, efficient code
  • Build tools and documentation that streamline processes and solves data issues
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements for scalability, delivery, and automation
  • Support the continuous development of data warehousing capabilities, managing the ingestion and cleansing of data utilized by internal software, research, and reporting systems

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Experience with Python and SQL required
  • Experience using Snowflake, Fivetran, DBT, Prefect, Salesforce, Git, and Tableau preferred
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis to identify opportunities and answer questions
  • Excellent analytical skills associated with working on unstructured datasets
  • Experience developing and utilizing cloud-based architecture to solve complex needs
  • Experience developing data systems including APIs, data pipelines, OLTP to OLAP transformations, and data streaming
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the power to develop creative and efficient solutions
  • Ability to manage priorities and coordinate tasks to solve day-to-day challenges
