Job Description
The Health & Safety Associate will act as a liaison between Event Professionals and all operational departments within the campus to ensure a high standard of organization, communication, documentation, and appropriate follow-up is occurring throughout baseball games and concerts events.
This position provides a visible and accessible floor presence in order to anticipate, understand and act upon all client needs while observing frontline staff charged with delivering “best-in-class” service to guests of the Wrigley Field, Gallagher Way and the American Airlines conference center. This position will be required to work varying schedule to reflect business needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the execution of incident investigations across Wrigley Field and Gallagher Way by responding to incidents and gathering appropriate documentation
- Proactively monitor events looking for risks and assisting in response to critical incidents as needed
- Complete campus wide health and safety inspections; reporting any issues through the auditing software and assign corrective actions and conduct appropriate follow-up
- Assist in building workplace hazard maps for variety of environmental hazards (heat related; slip, trip, falls; fire safety, etc.)
- Assist in any other compliance related tasks as defined by the Manager, Environmental Health and Safety
- Deliver best-in-class guest service through all touch points via the Cub’ service brand, “Marquee Moments”
- Greets guests upon arrival; resolves guest complaints and answers questions to customer’s satisfaction
- Support frontline associates in designated areas during events
- Communicates with facilities department regarding equipment repair, safety issues and energy management
- Communicates effectively with staff, Event Services and Levy Catering
- Promotes teamwork and employee morale
- Oversee third party vendors while on site as needed
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed and as directed by management
Qualifications Required
- Individual with an undergraduate degree in criminal justice, forensic science, environmental health and safety or experience in another relevant field
- Demonstrated self-motivator with a positive attitude and strong desire to learn
- Strong ability to function in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects, and adhere to deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
- Comfortable working with internal and external parties
- Demonstrated strong communication skills, both written and verbal, while open to coaching and feedback
- Demonstrated exceptional time management skills and strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products
- Ability to work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Ability to work game days, concerts, and other large-scale events
- Able to perform the following physical tasks: run, bend, squat, kneel, climb flights of stairs, walk on uneven ground, run up and down ramps, walk and stand for extended periods of time, assist patrons up and down stairs, lift and/or carry items weighing 15 to 60 pounds
