Job Description
The Director, Security Operations will provide a high level of expertise and leadership to manage all aspects of security at Citizens Bank Park. This role will ensure a safe and secure environment for visitors, employees, and vendors of The Phillies by establishing, monitoring and enforcing safety and security policies, plans and procedures in a manner which promotes an excellent guest experience, encourages repeat business and protects brand and property assets.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and execute security/operational logistics for all Phillies home games (including pre-and post-season), concerts, and major events
- Ensure the safety and security of all guests and property inside Citizens Bank Park
- Liaise between The Phillies and all law enforcement entities at the local, state and federal levels
- Coordinate security efforts for all dignitaries that attend events
- Oversee the management, updating, and exercising the Emergency Response Plan and coordinate efforts with finance department on the Business Continuity Plan
- Hire, train and manage all game-day security personnel (200+ members)
- Coordinate efforts with third-party staffing vendors and oversee the management of service providers
- Manage an annual operation budget of over $2,000,000
- Research and implement new technology to improve existing security posture
- Liaise between The Phillies and Major League Baseball for policy enforcement, benchmarking efforts, and logistical planning for hosted jewel events
- Coordinate efforts with the Department of Homeland Security regarding all potential threats to the facility, available training/resources for the staff, and technological advancements in critical infrastructure safety
- Assist with The Phillies’ efforts in maintaining SAFETY Act Designation and/or Certification
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- Ten (10) or more years working in the building security industry, sports/entertainment venue preferred
- 10+ years of related experience in law enforcement, strategic planning and/or operations for public safety, security or military operations preferred
- Must possess Leadership skills with the ability to partner with external and internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing security programs from policy to operations
- Direct experience engaging and partnering with local municipalities, law enforcement agencies, community leaders, vendors, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication as well as organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft-based software (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with video surveillance systems and access control systems
- Ability to multi-task
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Ability to work long hours, including holidays and weekends
