Job Description
The New York Yankees are seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our team. This position will report to the Director, Payroll and will be based at George M Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, FL. As an integral part of the Accounting/Finance team, this role is responsible for all tasks necessary to accomplish multi-state payroll processing objectives with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
Primary Responsibilities
- Calculate and process Minor League Baseball player payroll
- Manage electronic timekeeping systems or manually collect and review timesheets
- Ability to handle confidential material and communicate with various levels of management
- Timely and accurate processing of payrolls, transmitting payroll to ADP Workforce Now
- Calculate payable hours, commissions, bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions
- Prepare and issue W-2s
- Issue paychecks and manage direct deposits
- Maintain employee records
- Coordinate with the HR department to ensure correct employee data
- Provide information and answer employee questions about payroll related matters
- Provide administrative assistance to the accounting and finance department
- Assist in the administration of retirement plans
- Support annual financial statement audit of payroll and 401k
Qualifications Required
- Degree in business administration, finance, or accounting required
- 2-5 years of experience working in a payroll department
- Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
- Prior experience with ABI Mastermind preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good time management and organizational skill
- Able to prioritize and multitask effectively
