Job Description
Provide assistance to guests visiting Kauffman Stadium to ensure a friendly ballpark experience during Kansas City Royals baseball games. Primarily assist guests with disabilities to ensure a comfortable experience.
Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Proactively greet guests at Kauffman Stadium gate and ticket lines with a friendly greeting and fond farewell
- Actively provide assistance, answer questions and communicate security measures along with event/stadium information to guests
- Provide golf cart and wheelchair assistance to guests with disabilities or physical limitations before, during and after games
- Monitor concourse activity for opportunities to assist guests with disabilities or physical limitations before, during and after games
- Proactively communicate long lines at entry gates, ticket offices, concessions stands and restrooms to ensure quick service for guests
- Measure service on behalf of the Guest Experience Department
- Provide positive service recovery to guests in real time for negative experience or celebrating special occasions
- Monitor designated standing room only sections and wheelchair row seating sections during games
- Monitor designated smoking areas to ensure that guests are within the permitted areas
- Assist with green team initiatives when needed
- Assign other tasks as necessary
Qualifications Required
- High school degree required. Prefer candidates pursuing a college education and career in sports management, business or hospitality services
- Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred
- 1-2 years Guest Service experience preferred (e.g. hospitality, entertainment, retail)
- Must be available to work all Royals home games
- Professional demeanor and excellent verbal written communication skills required
- Must be team-oriented, extremely outgoing and motivated
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time during games
