The Frederick Keys are a founding member of the newly organized MLB Draft League. Frederick is a market of 250,000 people that sits about 45 min from both Baltimore and Washington D.C. In addition to the MLB draft league, Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium will also be home to 48 games of an Atlantic League MLB partner team. We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated professional to join our team as the operation moves forward with the new ownership of Attain Sports and Entertainment, also the parent company of the Baltimore Orioles Double A-Affiliate the Bowie Baysox.
Reports to: Director of Marketing
Type of Employment: Paid Internship
Start date: March 2023
Compensation: $1,500/month stipend
  •  Broadcast all home games for the Keys and the New Atlantic League Team based in Frederick for a total of 88 games
  • Cultivate new and current media outlets to increase our coverage involving promotional events and baseball information
  • Serve as a liaison between the media and the Keys
  • Prepare gameday materials (statistical packets, press credentials, lineup cards)
  • Prepare other press box media accommodations (internet/phone access, meal preparations, press box cleanliness) for each home game
  • Prepare the following elements of Keys Baseball information: produce Keys annual media guide, index and distribute media links for staff awareness and education, index statistical information, index and update player photo archives, create ream baseball card sets
  • Write editorial content for Keys GameDay Magazine
  • Voice radio advertisements that will air locally in our market
  • Create and post home game stories, editorials, and other information on Keys website and social media
  • Along with GM, AGM, Groundskeeper, and Clubhouse Manager- be a Keys official that works directly with the players and coaches
  • Spearhead and work closely with other departments and staff to improve the overall stadium appearance, fan experience, increase attendance and grow awareness
  • Assist in other aspects of the marketing department not limited but in addition to handling team mascot appearances
  • All other duties assigned by Director of Marketing and General Manager

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Degree from a 4-year program (or in your senior year of program)
  • Sports marketing/ journalism/ broadcasting background highly preferred
  • Individual must be energetic, enthusiastic, and a dedicated team player
  • Individual must handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and achieve objectives
  • Ability to work event nights, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Must have a can-do attitude
  • Must possess organization skills
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a team player and willing to help out in all areas of the business
