Job Description
The strategy group functions as an enterprise-wide consulting and corporate development group focused on delivering insights and analyses that drive both current performance and long-term corporate health (e.g., strategic planning, asset allocation, decision analyses, and deal structuring). The Director will play a vital role in working with executive leadership and the functional groups to identify and develop plans to fuel both organic and acquisitive business growth. He/she will also partner with the functional departments to foster an operating culture that focuses on delivering results against long-range planning objectives for the company. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the day-to-day strategy cycle and work closely with a cross-functional team of senior leaders and functional groups to develop consensus and support for company objectives
- Support the execution of our company objectives by advising or directly driving the initiation, planning, road mapping, delivering and closing of projects or new ventures
- Research, analyze and synthesize external trends to glean the most impactful and useful information to aid the organization in making direct investments or growing revenue
- Develop investment theses, risk mitigation plans, financial models, and execution plans for new business ventures
- Serve as the conduit between portfolio investments and the core business, ensuring strategic value is being harvested where appropriate
- Manage the end-to-end process for executing corporate development opportunities, including due diligence, modeling, valuation work, preparation of investment memos, and closing documentation
- Assist with the preparation of materials to be used in presentations to the capital markets, public and industry officials, senior management and the company’s Board of Directors
- Train, develop, and mentor junior staff
Qualifications Required
- MBA from a top tier institution
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, management, economics, or finance
- 8 years of total experience (can be inclusive of graduate school) with at least 3 years in investment banking or private equity
