 Job Description

This individual is responsible for helping plan, script, support, and execute all aspects of live production within the ballpark footprint for Astros games and Special Events. This role partners with all departments in the organization to develop and execute run of show for games, promotions, events, and Special Events with live production needs. The individual in this role will be responsible for supporting all the technical components of a live event (setup and execution) and serve as secondary contact for control room technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, script, and assist in execution of game elements consistent with department philosophy along with company values, vision, and mission
  • Responsible for coordination with all departments in development of all Woodpeckers home game scripts and Public Address announcements
  • Support staff for all control room, video production setup, and scoreboard needs
  • Responsible for updating game to game templated features and content (headshots, top 5 plays, etc.)
  • Manage/edit production videos, features, and game footage for internal and external distribution
  • Hire, train, and supervise a production and promotional
  • Shape the promotional calendar with exciting, engaging themes to bring new fans into the ballpark.
  • Work with a variety of vendors to order giveaways and additional entertainment acts to enhance entertainment and drive ticket sales.
  • Manage production equipment and troubleshoot when
  • Liaison with MLB for all press conference testing and distribution via MLB feeds
  • Partner with internal and external clients to fulfill game content distribution and organization
  • Work all Woodpeckers home games in assigned staff positions as needed
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Collaborate with the creative team to create content for social media and in-game
  • Team-based leadership/creative collaboration is a must
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • At least 2 years of experience managing live shows, preferably in the sports
  • Must be highly creative, possess strong initiative and be detail-
  • Must be a part of the gameday entertainment and enjoy entertaining
  • Good copywriting instincts and proofreading
  • Ability to work extended or unpredictable hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and
  • Shared passion for the business and a desire to positively influence the
  • Expert knowledge of software packages including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite, Ross XPression, Click Effects, etc.
  • Knowledge with Daktronics video boards, hardware and software, including Show Control and Experience with camera switching, Newtek Replay system a plus.
  • Knowledge of Control Room system functionality (switcher, audio setup, data storage, )
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with other departments and tenured production staff
  • Must be very organized, flexible and able to work in a live production and fast-paced environment
