English & Cultural Teacher

The Crawdads English and Cultural Teacher would be focused on delivering a baseball and life skills-related English as a Second Language (ESL) curriculum for the Crawdads for the 2023 season. The English and Cultural teacher will be responsible for providing part-time English language and life skills instruction and for building and fostering relationships with the organization's international players, serving as a resource for them on and off the field.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

• Utilize the Texas Rangers' baseball and life skills centered English-language curriculum to teach the minor league international players
• Provide English language and life skills instruction part time during the team’s homestands for the 2023 regular season April-September
• Assess student progress and submit progress evaluations each homestand
• Assist international players in learning English and American culture and acclimating to life in the affiliate city/community

• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Previous ESL or Spanish classroom teaching experience
• ESL endorsement or certification preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English
• Significant understanding or working knowledge of baseball
• Creativity and ability to teach in non-traditional classroom setting
• Computer skills
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Able to work flexible hours
• Self-starter
• Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Able to work in outdoor/baseball stadium environment
