Athletics Canada is the national sport organization for track and field, cross county, road, mountain, ultra and trail running. Its purpose is to support high performance athletics excellence at the domestic and international level and to provide leadership in developmental athletics in partnership with its provincial/territorial branch partners. Athletics Canada is a not-for-profit, charitable organization operating under a Board of Directors elected by provincial/territorial members.  Reporting to the Director, Operations, the Coordinator, Digital Communications contributes to the growth and development of Athletics Canada’s digital properties. Working with the Director, Operations and the Specialist, National Team Communications, the Coordinator, Digital Communications will support the design, development, and maintenance of all Athletics Canada’s varied and integrated communications products and services including web, newsletters, social and digital media,

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Athletics Canada’s communications efforts.
  • Maintain the organization’s website (WordPress based).
  • Oversee Athletics Canada email campaigns and newsletters.
  • Develop and execute Athletics Canada content calendar.
  • Create engaging and original content for Athletics Canada social media channels: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook
  • Review analytics and performance tracking on all digital campaigns
  • Assist the Specialist, National Team Communications with media information, press kits and other duties
  • Review and provide insight and suggestions on how Athletics Canada can optimize engagement

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, or related field.
  • Prior experience in WordPress, Google Analytics, as well as social media management Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube is strongly desired.
  • Creative and thoughtful on how new media technologies can be utilized.
  • Self Starter and innovative thinker.
  • Ability to project manage and adjust to shifting priorities.
  • Energetic, self-reliant, good problem solver, and results oriented.
  • Bilingualism is considered a must.
