 Job Description
The Tennessee Titans are seeking a strategic and service-minded accounting and finance professional to support the business and stadium functions and promote cross-functional collaboration. The Controller will report up to the Vice President of Finance.

- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for general accounting, income tax, debt compliance and NFL reporting purposes
- Assist in the valuation of key accounting estimates
- Work and communicate effectively with senior management about finances of the business and justify certain financial recommendations
- Develop a deep understanding of NFL league finance rules, such as reporting requirements, revenue sharing, and available stadium financing
- Maximize return on financial assets by driving innovation around current financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems
- Participate in the company’s planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, identifying ways to improve both the process and accuracy of the forecasts
- Ensure compliance with the company’s debt covenant metrics through accurate and timely forecasting and reporting
- In collaboration with financial planning and analysis personnel, champion the organization’s push to data-driven decision making and business discipline
- Manage and develop the skills of direct reports through mentorship and coaching
- Assist leadership with other special projects as needed
Qualifications Required
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
- 8+ years of experience in accounting/finance role with thorough understanding of GAAP
- CPA certification preferred; previous experience in professional sports preferred
- Thorough understanding of financial reporting requirements and the business cycle, including cash management, payroll, capital asset planning, receivables, payables, income taxes, pensions, workers’ compensation, and the financial statement close process
- Computer skills and knowledge of relevant software tools, to include prior experience with sophisticated Excel-based analysis
- Attention to detail and great organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interface at all levels of the organization
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and ambiguous environment, managing multiple projects and managing multiple people, simultaneously
- Proven problem solver with track record of people leadership, coaching and development
- Strong communication skills, with proficiency in speaking and writing
- The ability to act responsibly and ethically when working with sensitive financial information
