Job Description
- Serve on assigned TOUR rules committee under specific conditions and pre-planning.
- Serve as liaison with players and other tournament constituents.
- Serve as key point of contact representing the Competitions Department on site between Korn Ferry Tour/PGA TOUR tournament staff, Global Home staff, local host tournament organization, and host facility during advance and tournament weeks.
- Coordinate
- Make on-course decisions regarding the application and/or interpretation of the Rules of Golf, Korn Ferry Tour/PGA TOUR policies and tournament regulations including pace of play and disciplinary actions.
- Prepare tournament golf courses for competition including marking the course and selecting tee and hole placements. Work with Agronomy staff regarding agronomic issues for competition, including mowing heights, green speeds, and maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate competitions staff, host organization, tournament and pro-am field sponsor exemptions.
- Conduct open qualifying, qualifying tournament stages and assist with determining official starting times each day.
- Administer inclement weather suspensions and course evacuations.
- Maintain positive player relations and assist media officials, ShotLink staff, scoring officials/starters and volunteer committees with any issues that arise.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Business, Sports Management, Communications or related or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 8 years of golf related experience with at least 3 years in a competitive golf rules position required or equivalent experience preferred. Must possess strong tournament administration, leadership, decision-making, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- In-depth knowledge of, and ability to apply and interpret the USGA Rules of Golf is required. Must have successfully completed a recent USGA Rules course and tested with a minimum score of 90.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, holidays and weekends for an extended period of time. Requires extensive travel domestically and internationally.
- Able to safely operate a utility vehicle such as, but not limited to, golf carts, utility carts, and shuttle carts.
