This position oversees the development and execution of the marketing plans for the Joliet Slammers and all other events at Duly Health and Care Field.  This position will develop and implement strategic marketing plans that could include all forms of traditional and digital advertising, promotions, brand building, and sales support programs.  It will also work with other business partners, departments and 3rd party vendors.
Responsibilities:
  • Communicate regularly with sales staff and General Manager to discuss new ideas to promote the facility
  • Oversee management of the Slammers brand, including logo usage, written material or any public appearance of team information
  • Assist sales in closing business through creative proposals, marketing ideas and ad campaigns
  • Establishes professional relationships with key personnel of the media, including newspapers, magazines, television and radio
  • Negotiate, close and implement media and promotional agreements for the facility and events with promoters and media clients
  • Maintain and update our website and all social media accounts
  • Creates news releases and feature stories about the facility, our staff, and events held in the facility and distributes to appropriate media
  • Writes and produces print ads and digital marketing pieces
  • Produce facility brochures, print and electronic versions
  • Coordinate photographic needs for routine, as well as special events, documentation and promotional purposes
  • Ability to take verbal and written direction
  •  Ability to work unusual hours as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  •  Excellent oral communication skills
  • Strong background in written communication such as letters, press releases, and articles.  Must also have great proof reading skills
  • The ability to work well with others, including clients, associates, partners, media
  • Excellent planning, organizational skills and attention to details
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, as well as Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop and additional design experience
  • Creative and innovative abilities
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or similar
