Job Description
The Jacksonville Jaguars are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. This position will assist with day-to-day accounting functions, which include but are not limited to: accounts receivables, journal entries, transaction research, and month-end close. The ideal candidate must be reliable, have a keen eye for detail, exhibit a commitment to excellence and be comfortable taking initiative.
Job Responsibilities
- Record monthly journal entries as part of the month-end close process, including revenue recognition
- Perform full cycle accounts receivable functions to include invoicing, cash application, and payment research
- Ensure that balance sheet accounts are accurately stated and reconciled to the general ledger. Research variances, determine root causes, and make adjusting entries when applicable.
- Organize, prepare, and record bank deposits
- Monitor and maintain accounts receivable aging
- Work closely with Sponsorship team, distributing payment updates and acting as primary contact for billing inquiries
- Maintain fixed assets & depreciation
- Assist with year-end audit procedures including preparation of NFL required reports
- Develop process automation to create efficiencies within the department and organizationally
- Management and reconciliation of the petty cash fund and daily cash transactions
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- General Ledger Accounting experience
- Ability to self-teach and learn new processes/technologies quickly
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, changing environment. Must work well under time constraints
- Positive and professional demeanor, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with a variety of team members in various departments
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
- Desire to continue professional learning
