 Job Description

This position will play a key role in streamlining rehabilitation and performance for players returning to play from injury. The Rehab Strength and Conditioning Coach will primarily work hands-on with athletes in the weight room and outside during on-field activities. This individual must demonstrate strong physical preparation and rehabilitation acumen as well as the ability to utilize technology and objectivity to drive programming decisions.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Design and implement strength and conditioning programs using a science and data-led approach
  • Establish and execute testing and exercise protocols pertaining to rehabilitation and performance
  • Teach proper execution, techniques and safety for all lifts and movement drills
  • Coach sprint, deceleration, and multidirectional movement mechanics
  • Actively participate in continuing education and professional growth opportunities
  • Maintain gym and sports science equipment
  • Consistently report player progress and regression to stakeholders
  • Work with SM&P, Performance Science, and Player Development staff to manage player load, maximize schedule efficiency, and optimize performance outcomes
  • Attend and participate in scheduled staff meetings
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with physical therapists, dietitians, athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, baseball coaches, and sports scientists to maximize the efficiency of the rehabilitation and reconditioning process
  • Must be flexible to work irregular hours, nights, and weekend

Qualifications RequiredQualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field
  • Minimum five years of experience in a strength and conditioning-related role
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the NSCA
  • Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) through the NSCA
  • CPR/AED certified
