Job Description

Assist the Sports Science Staff with the implementation of new and existing Sports Science initiatives including but not limited to set up, deployment, and troubleshooting of Sports Science Technology, communication of Sports Science reports to Sports Performance Staff, along with data collection, data entry, and data hygiene checks within the Athlete Management System. This role will be primarily focused on the application of Sports Science within the fields of Strength and Conditioning, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Nutrition, as well as the overarching Player Development system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Sport Science, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Strength and Conditioning, and player Development staff to design, plan, and execute projects and initiatives.
  • Assist the above-mentioned staff with athlete assessments, player monitoring, data collection, data entry, and analysis.
  • Establish strong working relationships with staff and players in order to deliver Sport Science reports and information to positively impact player health, physical development, and daily readiness.
  • Assist in operation, maintenance, and implementation of Sports Science related technology.
  • Keep up to date on current baseball and Sports Science research.
  • Participate in the organization, planning, and implementation of any beta-testing projects within the Sports Science domain.

Qualifications Required

  • Strong foundation in a Sports Science related field, such as biomechanics, motor control or exercise physiology.
  • Knowledge of data collection techniques, statistical analysis, and ethical research standards.
  • Demonstrated experience with multiple Sports Science related technology platforms.
  • Knowledge of a variety of computer applications dealing with word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBi, R Studio etc.).
  • Understanding of current baseball research, statistics and strategy as well as typical baseball training, workloads, and gameplay.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all aspects of baseball operations, scouting, and player development staff.
  • Outstanding work ethic and attention to detail
