Job Description

  • Serve as key point of contact representing the Competitions Department on site between PGA TOUR tournament staff, HQ Staff, local tournament organization, volunteers and host facility during advance and tournament weeks.
  • Make all necessary preparations for the starting tees including volunteer assignments and training
  • Create and maintain all necessary communication links between Competitions Department, ShotLink, Media, Player Relations and Host Organization regarding field updates.
  • Conduct training of all registration volunteers and care for all necessary equipment.
  • Post all competitions related information for on-site tournament staff, players and caddies.
  • Maintain all tournament related Virtual Locker Room documents.
  • Maintain positive player relations and assist media officials, ShotLink staff, starters and volunteer committees with any issues that arise.
  • Prepare and distribute all necessary competitions related paperwork including Hole Locations, Notice to Players, Groupings, etc.
  • Manage warnings and timings summaries
  • Serve as information resource for players and other constituents.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Business, Sports Management, Communications or related or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of tournament administration experience required.
  • Must possess strong leadership, decision making, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Rules of Golf.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, holidays, and weekends for an extended period of time.  Requires extensive travel domestically and internationally.
  • Able to safely operate a utility vehicle such as, but not limited to, golf carts, utility carts, and shuttle carts.
