Job Description
The Communications, Marketing and Sponsorship Manager is responsible for day-to-day communications activities under the direction of Badminton Canada’s Executive Director. The Communications, Marketing and Sponsorship Manager provides organizational leadership to the activities to enhance, share and develop the brand of Badminton Canada. This position works to raise the profile and revenue streams for the organization. All staff employed by Badminton Canada will facilitate the achievement of its long-term vision and planned annual targets. All personnel are required to operate within the policies and procedures as established by the association’s volunteer Board of Directors and are expected to act consistently with the association’s values.
This position will focus on bringing alignment to key areas within Badminton Canada which include:
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute organizational marketing plans to support event and sales activities.
- Work with a wide variety of partners including sponsors, PTSOs, athletes, and coaches to ensure proper coordination of communications and brand alignment.
- Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies that include:
- Develop content calendars for leveraging Badminton Canada annual cycles.
- Traditional and social media engagement, development, creative design, and delivery.
- Management of the website including content management.
- Writing press releases, event recaps, and event promotions. Working closely with sport partners for proper communication across organizations.
- Developing the corporate uniform and swag strategy.
- Management of the corporate brand:
- Identifier and marks.
- Usage guidelines.
- Event alignment with partners.
- Management of the Badminton Canada online store, including:
- Working with partners.
- Planning the product mix.
- Managing billing and profitability.

Qualifications Required
- Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications and sponsorship or business management.
- Knowledge and/or experience in the Canadian sport system.
- Access to a vehicle and ability to use for pickup and delivery of Badminton Canada materials.
- Ability to understand budgets, budgeting process and tracking financial information are considered assets.
- Available to work evenings and weekends as required to support the job.
- Ability to travel across Canada and Internationally as required.
