Job Description
This position provides security services for the Houston Astros baseball team which consists of protection from and prevention of such threats as assault, kidnapping and stalking. The security officer will protect by assessing threats, planning routes and searching cars and buildings, coordinating with law enforcement agencies and performing all other duties as s/he judges to protect the team and its individual players.
Essential Functions

- Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
- Obtains help by sounding alarms and alerting policing authorities as they see fit.
- Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
- Coordinate & inspect Hotel, Airline and other vendors security protocols and systems.
- Assist in documenting policies & procedures.
- Train staff and players on appropriate security procedures.
- Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building, equipment, and access controls.
- Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required
- A minimum of 5+ years of professional security experience in a corporate, government, military, consulting, law enforcement, sports or entertainment facility with an emphasis on transportation, security, crowd management and public safety.
- Proficient to advanced computer skills in Microsoft-based software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Extraordinarily proactive, organized and in a constant state of readiness and preparedness.
- Must have extensive safety and security experience that demonstrates initiative, leadership, effective communication, problem solving skills, conflict resolution and solid project management.
- Extensive working knowledge and network with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a must.
