Sitting within the Workforce Department, Human Resources (along with Language Services, Office Administration, Volunteers, Recruiting, and Benefits & Payroll) aims to deliver the most engaging, innovative, and accessible World Cup experience for all athletes, fans, partners, and the community.  Reporting organisationally to the Executive Director, Administration – Canada, the Sr. Human Resources Manager will help serve Human Resources efforts for the FIFA World Cup 2026 that for the first time ever, is hosting 48 teams and 1,200+ players across 3 countries and 16 venues. This role will be responsible for all HR operations, including recruitment, staffing, training, culture, engagement and personnel management, to ensure the successful organization and execution of the event. Further, this role will oversee employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, HR policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. It will also play a critical role in our business integration efforts yet to be fully defined.

The main responsibilities of the Sr. Human Resources Manager for the FIFA World Cup 2026 include:

  • Co-Lead the recruitment and selection process for all event staff, including developing job descriptions, conducting interviews, and coordinating background checks.
  • Manage employee relations by addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Implement performance management systems to evaluate and recognize the contributions of employees, including goal setting, performance reviews, and rewards and recognition programs.
  • Coordinate and oversee training and development programs for event staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with labor laws, regulations, and FIFA guidelines.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and administer compensation and benefits packages for event staff, ensuring competitive and fair practices.
  • Drive Culture and Engagement activations in alignment with market objectives
  • Manage HR budget and resources effectively, optimizing cost efficiencies while meeting the needs of the event.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on HR-related matters, including employee onboarding, career development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Stay updated on HR trends and best practices, and adapt them to the specific needs and requirements of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
  • Serve as a liaison between event staff and external HR partners, such as recruitment agencies, legal counsel, and payroll providers.
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives and provide insights to the event's management team.

Qualifications Required

Education & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or similar level of education in Business, etc.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience in human resources, etc.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written
  • Team player, willing to pitch in where needed
  • Ability to lead, manage, and motivate a team
  • Positive attitude, patience, and persistence


Fluent in English. French proficiency is a plus


Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
