Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administration:
    • Manage high performance program, including:
      • Coordinating athlete selection and ranking.
      • Ensuring athlete compliance with regulatory bodies.
      • Hosting regular meetings with HP program and athletes.
      • Coordinating HP website and social media responsibilities.
      • Coordinating with national sports partners.
      • Overseeing athlete funding system.
  • High Performance Governance:
    • Develop vision, mandate, and values for high performance program.
    • Lead and champion the High Performance Program.
    • Develop annual schedules and budgets in collaboration with HP Selection Committee.
  • HP Athlete Development Pathway:
    • Develop and implement HP Athlete Development Pathway, including:
      • Next Gen program.
      • Performance benchmarks and Gold Medal Profile.
      • Framework required by Own the Podium.
      • Athlete monitoring program and systems.
  • Hosting Competitions and Training Camps
  • Coordinate CEC Youth National Team:
    • For annual Youth World Championships, Pan American Youth Championships, and other suitable major international youth competitions.
  • Other Tasks:
    • As assigned by the Executive Director.

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in related field.
  • 2-3 years or more of progressive high performance experience, or equivalent.
  • Strong working knowledge of software applications.
  • Exemplary organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to see the sport from a national lens.
  • Positive and professional attitude.
  • Bilingualism in English/French is considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of climbing and its competition environment is considered a strong asset.
