Job Description
Skate Canada is seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our team as a Social Media Coordinator. The Social Media Coordinator plays a crucial role in enhancing Skate Canada’s online presence, engaging with our community, and promoting the sport of figure skating across various social media platforms. This position also involves tracking and reporting analytics on marketing and communications campaigns
and coordinating department administrative tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and produces engaging content for social media platforms, including but not limited
to Facebook, lnstagram, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube. - Attends Skate Canada domestic events and produces live social media content.
- Manages all aspects of Skate Canada’s social media channels, including content planning, scheduling, posting, and community engagement.
- Monitors social media trends, analyzes performance metrics, and provides insights and reports on key metrics.
- Collaborates with internal teams, including marketing, communications, and events, to align social media efforts with organizational goals and objectives.
- Responds to inquiries, comments, and messages from followers in a timely and professional manner, maintaining a positive and supportive online community.
- Other duties as required.

Qualifications Required
- Post-secondary education (Preference: marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in social media management, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry.
- Expert in MS Office suite of programs.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices, with a passion for staying ahead of trends.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to craft engaging and compelling content tailored to specific audiences.
- Highly organized with excellent multitasking abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual in English/French is a strong asset.
- Knowledge and experience in the sport of figure skating and/or knowledge of the Canadian sport system is a strong asset.
