Job Description

Reporting to the SVP of Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager serves as an HR Business Partner for the Golden 1 Center. The main responsibility of the HR Manager is to advise business leaders and team members on HR practices, programs, and policies, and provide general support.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRA’s):

Employee Relations:

  • Develop relationships with cross-functional partners and serve as a trusted resource.
  • Guide managers on coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
  • Review employee complaints and ensure accurate and timely documentation of concerns.
  • Facilitates actions to resolve employee issues and escalate them to the appropriate management team.
  • Partner closely with the HR team on organization development, staffing, and training optimization.
  • Build strong relationships with team members and business leaders.

Labor Relations:

  • Coordinate, administer, and manage all aspects of labor relations for collective bargaining unit employees to ensure compliance with agreements and regulations.
  • Facilitate resolution of employee issues, escalating as necessary.
  • Manage collective bargaining agreements and negotiations.
  • Manage all grievances and oversee processes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees and work with managers to resolve labor relations issues.
  • Lead highly complex and sensitive workplace investigations, making objective recommendations and drafting comprehensive reports.

Qualifications Required

  • 5-7 years of HR experience, preferably in a union environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business, plus PHR or SHRM-CP credential preferred.
  • Experience in 24/7 operation, preferably in a sports venue.
  • Ability to work event-based schedule, present for 70% of Golden 1 Center live events.
  • Knowledge of HRIS and database systems, preferably Workday or a similar ERP system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to simplify complex information.
  • Ability to handle confidential/sensitive information.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, problem solver.
